I was disappointed right away because the color looked nothing like the sample online. Once the stain dried, it was way darker than what they showed on their site. Definitely not the best first impression.

I used Cabot stain on my deck and it just would not dry like I expected. The weather was fine, so I kept thinking something felt off because it stayed tacky for days. It ended up being really frustrating and felt like more hassle than it was worth.

I used Cabot stain on my deck it just didn’t turn out the way I expected. After it dried, some areas looked shiny, other spots were dull, and the color was all blotchy instead of smooth and even. How does that happen when it’s supposed to make the deck look better??
I did what I was supposed to do too — cleaned the wood, stirred the stain, followed the directions closely, the whole thing. But the end result still looks patchy and kind of makes the deck look old and dirty. Really frustrating after putting in the time and effort, you know??

Not gonna lie, I bought this Cabot stain thinking one can would get me through most of my deck, but it didn’t even come close. The coverage was way less than what the label made it seem like, so I had to stop halfway through and go buy more. That made the whole project more expensive and way more annoying than it needed to be. Maybe it works better on certain types of wood, but for my deck the coverage was disappointing. In the end it still dried uneven, and I wouldn’t bother with it again.
